FAQ

Intros or starter Cartridges

Please make sure you check your printer cartridges for starter or intro cartridges. We are unable to collect Intro or Starter cartridges.

On HP printer cartridges, this is usually presented by the word ‘Intro’ or ‘Starter’ on the label, but on Samsung versions it is typically represented by an ‘S’ after the code. If you are unsure, please contact us before sending your printer cartridges.

PLEASE NOTE: WE ACCEPT ORIGINAL CARTRIDGES - We can not collect Brother and Epson compatible and remanufactured cartridges.

The difference between Original, Remanufactured and Compatible:

Original equipment manufacturer (OEM)

An original cartridge is a brand new printer cartridge that has been manufactured by the same brand of your printer. For example, an original cartridge for an HP printer is manufactured by HP.

Genuine or Virgin

This is another name for an original printer cartridge.

Compatible

This is a brand new printer cartridge, made by a third-party manufacturer. They have absolutely no affiliation with the original manufacturers of the printer. Any change or alteration to the OEM core body will make this a compatible cartridge, rather than remanufactured and the printer cartridges have not been used before and are made from new parts. These compatible cartridges usually infringe the copyright, so can cause some legal issues.

Refilled printer cartridges

These are original cartridges that have been used once, returned, cleaned and refilled. They will work in the same way as originally. Page yields are estimates only from the manufacturers, usually based on a 5% coverage and will obviously vary according to usage.

Remanufactured

These cartridges are original printer cartridges that have been used once, returned, cleaned, had all working parts replaced and then refilled. Again, page yields are estimates from the manufacturers, usually based on a 5% coverage and will obviously vary according to usage.

Dell, IBM, Apple, Canon, Xerox, Brother, Canon, HP and other manufacturer brand names and logos are registered trademarks of their respective owners. Any and all brand name designations or references are made solely for purposes of demonstrating compatibility of ink cartridges.
